The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Denver, Colorado found that giving cannabidiol (CBD) to people with anxiety and sleep disorders results in a decrease in discomfort.

The study, entitled “Cannabidiol in Anxiety and Sleep: a large Case Series”, was conducted with 72 adult patients, 47 of them with anxiety and 25 sleep problems.

The evidence suggests that CBD has a calming effect on the central nervous system. Since then, interest in studying this cannabis compound as a treatment for related disorders is on the rise.

“The review included a detailed monthly documentation of anxiety and sleep quality in 103 adult patients,” the study says.

The results show that anxiety levels decreased in the first month in 57 patients and continued to decrease during the duration of the study.

The sleep analysis led to improvements in 48 patients who saw an improvement in the first month, but fluctuated throughout the investigation. Of the patients, only 3 did not tolerate CBD.
